Remaining BNSF transcon seachlight signals
Author: howeld

Recent trip along the Santa Fe I noticed that SK Jct (MP 237) in Wellington, KS was still controlled by searchlight signals.

Where do seachlights remain on the BNSF transcon between Chicago and LA?

Excluding La Junta and Raton subs. Hopefully signals on those lines will remain a long time to come.

The last time I saw them, there were searchlights at MP342 just west of Bucklin and the east distant signals for East Marceline.  There wee no signs of replacement anytime soon.  Now, I have to qualify this by saying this was last fall and I don't know if anything has changed.

Searchlights on the Wye stems of Baca, Pegs and Defiance which are right off the NM S. Transcon. Also, searchlights for the Distant Signal and Approach to Williams Jct in AZ.
