Western Railroad Discussion > Cornfield roller-coasterDate: 08/06/20 04:19 Cornfield roller-coaster Author: santafe199 An out-of-place looking coal empty is taking a mild roller-coaster ride through some Kansas corn fields on its way from Baileyville over to Axtell. Next small town after that is Beattie, followed by Home City and finally the crew-change terminal of Marysville. This is rich corn & milo country. (although I doubt those farmers from up yonder in Husker Nation would exhibit any jealousy… ;^)
1. 2. & 3. UP 8119 leads a coal empty out of Baileyville, KS. Taken from the hoop-t-doo jog crossing of 160th Rd with the UP’s Hiawatha Sub. This westward directional main line is the UP’s old “Joe Branch”. Photo date: August 3, 2020. Thanks for looking! Lance Garrels santafe199 count-down to norman ah bates Edited 1 time(s).
