Also noted that morning: MV Kennicott, at the dock at Fairhaven, as seen from the BNSF mainline. Alaska Ferry sightings are increasingly rare Jonathan Fischer West Seattle, WA Date: 08/22/20 18:56 Re: BNSF 2620 @ Silvana, Wa; 07/26/2020 Author: Ritzville Very NICE series! Nice to see the older power and the Alaska Ferry.
Larry Date: 08/22/20 20:17 Re: BNSF 2620 @ Silvana, Wa; 07/26/2020 Author: icancmp193 I read a recent article somewhere that the whole Alaska Ferry System is in deep financial straits.
The ferry is an important lifeline for many people that live on the many islands and out to places like Kodiak Island, Unalaska (Dutch Harbor), etc. TJY Date: 08/23/20 07:28 Re: BNSF 2620 @ Silvana, Wa; 07/26/2020 Author: MILWRF That looks like it might be the Conway Turn.

Periodically the Stillaguamish River will flood and fill all those fields for a few days; the reason for the trestles where no real watercourse seems to run under.
I've watched many trains go by from my friends' farm nearby over the years but somehow never taken photos. Timothy Date: 08/24/20 11:29 Re: BNSF 2620 @ Silvana, Wa; 07/26/2020 Author: loleta Nice photos, thank you. When does the Everett - Sumas turn run these days? I used to enjoy chasing it north on summer evenings when I lived in Bellingham. On the longest days, you could photograph it from Everett to Sumas and back south to around Acme or Wickersham.
