Show-me Sunday: My bi-annual trip to Camden
Author: route56

It's labor day weekend once again, and for me, it wouldn't be one without catching something railroad-related. Base on what I could tell, I hadn't been to Camden since Labor Day weekend of 2018.

1-4: We start out with a westbound NS train of stacks and racks on BNSF main 1 at 1312.

11: An ex-Rock Island hopper is now a privatly-owned car (i.e. reporting mark ending in "X"), but it's still running around in "bankruptcy blue"

12-14: A half-hour later (1404) I caught another eastbound on 3... this time, it's a BNSF grain train.

28: There were still a couple of cars still carrying a faded Southern logo and reporting marks

29: Not only was this autorack the only non-boxcar, but it was the only car carrying CSX marks. All the other cars were connected to NS or CN.

30: At 1457, we had a slow-rolling westbound approaching. I caught this white Nissan Sentra running the gates. The unknown driver has now been shamed on Social Media.

Nice series! Camden. MO was a great place to catch many trains on the BNSF and a few on the NS. It was even more fun when they had the wig-wag at the grade crossing.
