Western Railroad Discussion > Question On NS Locomotives Running With PTC On The BNSFDate: 09/09/20 05:38 Question On NS Locomotives Running With PTC On The BNSF Author: NSSpike Are NS locomotives currently capable of running as leader on the BNSF system? Recently an NS 265 Atlanta, GA - Memphis, TN (BNSF Z AUGSBD) interchange at Memphis with a destination of San Bernardino CA was seen west bound through Decatur Alabama. Trying to determine if this power remains as leader for the entire 2,000 plus mile trip? We know NS units are able to run on the UP system.
Thanks for stopping by and always be safe when out track side!!! Phil Maton Villa Rica, GA Date: 09/09/20 07:19 Re: Question On NS Locomotives Running With PTC On The BNSF Author: TractiveEffort Yes; NS and BNSF have established reciprocal PTC interoperability. As have all Class Is and Amtrak.
