It was another very Unhealthy smoke day in Ritzville, WA on the BNSF Northern Transcon. The high-low was 71-54 with the sun completely blotted out by the smoke. Hopefully this will change by Wednesday, keeping my fingers crossed. Very difficult to be outside, a mask is not optional. Here are some of the trains from today and a couple from yesterday. Did filter out some of the smoke in some pictures.

1. Grab shot of EB 504pm grain train with BNSF 8240, Warbonnet 718 and BNSF 7743 on the point with no DPU. Filtered out some of the smoke.
2. WB 504pm manifest train with BNSF 6568-6937-3836 on the pull with no DPU. Non-filtered smoke.

Wow, your air looks even worse than we have in Tacoma.  We're one step below hazardous, at "very unhealthy for everyone," so you might be at "hazardous."   Take care of yourself and stay inside.

The Virtual Railfan for Chehalis Wa shows thick smoke, too.

Now the new report is that the smoke will remain until the end of the week, Grim!

My cousin is seeing haze from the wildfires at his home.

He lives in Cleveland, Ohio.

Well this morning just outside of Chiloquin OR where the 242 fire is we have bright sunlight and a mile vis. Wow what a change so far today hope it clears out for you up in Ritzville more. Boyd in Chiloquin.
