Artificially low light in Chino, CA
Author: Evan_Werkema

Caught Union Pacific's Chino Local leaving its namesake town shortly before dusk on Monday.  Here are a couple of views of the train pulling out of the industrial park spur and then shoving back toward Pomona into a setting sun greatly dimmed by smoke from two wildfires burning in the mountains 30+ miles away.

Kind of looks like railroading on Mars....

Great pictures! However you gave it the wrong title. The sky as pictured is a natural condition, nothing's artificial about it. This is one of the phenomena that can naturally occur when beasts of a lower order of life encounters those of a higher order of life. Not to worry though, if evolution continues, the lower form will vanish before any "permanent" harm is done!

Great pictures! However there is NOTHING wrong with your thread title. Low Light, something Don & I know a thing er 2 about, can come in artificial ways as well as more conventional ways. BTW: The composition in image #1 is spot-on!

The sky and sun in Montreal looked pretty much like that this morning - the west coast wildfire smoke is now widespread. As far as it looking like Mars is concerned, here's a natural color photo of a Martian sunset.
