Western Railroad Discussion > The Double-Derail ChallengeDate: 10/09/20 17:18 The Double-Derail Challenge Author: bmarti7 The crew of the BNSF X-LVWELR has just pulled 116 empty grain hoppers into the siding at Eldridge, ND. They have pulled the head-end power and run around the train to place all the BNSF power on the west end of the siding. This particular siding has two derails so the challenge is to tie down the power between the derails. The crew accomplished the task with feet to spare.
1. the engineer prepares to pull the DPU away from the train far enough to clear the derail. 2. The DPU has been moved and the derail thrown 3.
