Western Railroad Discussion > CP in NE Iowa - 10 OctDate: 10/14/20 17:59 CP in NE Iowa - 10 Oct Author: Mid_Iowa_Rails After the NRHS - IA fall meeting in the morning, some of us went and chased trains along the CP line. Here are some of my catches. (If some of these look nearly identical to some of MILW86A's shots, that's because we shot them within 10' of each other.)
1) SB grain train with foreign power rolls out of Marquette yard. 2) NB local stopped in the Eckards siding. 3) Local pulling out of the siding onto the main. Date: 10/14/20 18:02 Re: CP in NE Iowa - 10 Oct Author: Mid_Iowa_Rails 1) Grain train with a single BNSF unit for power approaches the south end of the Eckards siding.
2) The same train from the first image rolls through Guttenberg, Iowa. Date: 10/15/20 10:16 Re: CP in NE Iowa - 10 Oct Author: MILW86A Nicely done. What a fun day!
MILW86A Date: 10/15/20 12:59 Re: CP in NE Iowa - 10 Oct Author: ntharalson Interesting. Has CP installed radio controlled signals north of Dubuque?? First I've seen of taht. Thanks for posting.
Nick Tharalson, Marion, IA Date: 10/15/20 13:58 Re: CP in NE Iowa - 10 Oct Author: Mid_Iowa_Rails In MILW86A's post with his images, he mentioned that it was:
> Its a radio controlled switch. Green means lined > on main. Red would mean lined for the siding. > ICE/DME turned a few sidings to radio controlled > operation before the CP Takeover in 2007. |
