UP 2021 calendar arrives
Author: Copy19

The 2021 Union Pacific arrived in my mailbox today and I'm dazzled.  I have to admit I was afraid today's economics had me worried about the future of the calendar.  I had a couple of close calls of the company eliminating the calendar as "low-hanging fruit" back on my watch.

I see a couple of familiar names from my days among the 2021 photographers: Scott A. Hartley - cover and longtime contributer Adam Pizante for his shot of Spring Garden, Calif.   And I have a special tip of my hat to fellow TO'r Dick Elbright for his Silver Zone Pass spectacular.  Mr. Elbright, you are the king of Silver Zone!

Here are the names of the rest of the winners:  Ryan Slaton, Donald C. Scott, Kevin Bleich, Christopher Pagliaro, David Honan,  Cade Smith, Will Martin, Brian Stevens, James Belmont. and Darla Young.

Outstanding work.  You are the champions!

John Bromley - Omaha

Wow I'm behind. I just ordered some today.  I was very disappointed to find that
Norfolk Southern is not doing a wall Calender this year. Although I am more interested
in western roads I REALLY like the NS one because it was bigger and Where I hung it
I could see the dates clearly from my recliner; so I could muse over dates by just glancing
over. The BNSF and UP Calenders are smaller so not as good although the 2020 UP
was better than past. I also miss the MRL year at a glance.  Ah well...

Mr Bromelly, I have collected UP calandars since the '50s, how can I order a copy for next year?

Go to UP.com, click "About us", go to merchandise , then company store.  Calendars are under office essentials.

Out of the 13 names posted by Copy19, 7 that I know of were on TO, 3 of those still are. Too bad the others are still not TO contributors, our loss.

Christopher Pagliaro is spsniper on TO and 15 years old, the youngest person to be on a UP calendar? I may not have been paying attention- is Darla Young the first female photographer on a UP calendar?

Brian Stevens is SCKP187. At the moment he has exactly 10,000 TO posts.

Dick Ebright is 2ebright, also king of the Deseret Power Ry.

Unless these guys are posting under different handles, these top photographers are gone from TO:

James Belmont was GrandeGold, hasn't posted since 5/8/19, under a different handle now or off TO?

Adam Pizante was NorCalAdam, hasn’t posted since 10/16/17.

Ryan Slaton was BNSF7400, last posted 8/10/12.

David Honan was DWHonan, last posted 7/5/12.

As far as I know I think she is.  Check the notations in various months for special days that didn't used to be recognized.

I got mine too John. Just haven't taken the time to look it over yet.
I understand a few of mine will be on the UPHS calendar this next year.

James Belmont has contributed many pictures in recent months.  Most of them in the Sierras.  All of them under the TO name of BoilingMan.

I'm a UP shareholder--can I request a calendar?  If so, how?

Trust me, BoilingMan is not James Belmont. I let the real BoilingMan reveal his identity if he chooses to do so.

I just received a PM from a TOer who advises me that he checked with UP on whether Darla Young's 2021 calendar picture is the first time a female's photography  has appeared on the calendar.  They said they have used her pictures many times as well as other female work.  I'm surprised I never noticed and stand corrected.
