Western Railroad Discussion > CP FlaresDate: 10/23/20 08:48 CP Flares Author: CNW8531 I like flared units in just about any color, but they sure look striking in CP red. These are from a couple years back but are still roaming the system today.
1st A one lung northbound (single unit train) is near the Rock Creek resort south of Camanche shot with a zoom off highway #67 near MP 166 on the Davenport sub. 2nd Same train a few miles north going through Camanche in the very late afternoon sun and shadows. 3rd The B60 local working Clinton and going by the former CNW depot at Fifth Street. Bill Miller Galt, ON Date: 10/23/20 15:29 Re: CP Flares Author: sp8192 Has to be before 2016. Shown here looks like it just got repainted and doesn't have Remote control installed yet...and I believe that happened in early 2016

Date: 10/24/20 00:18 Re: CP Flares Author: redneckrailfan The rebuilds of CP #4524 and 5006 are totally unrelated. CP 4524 was acquired by CP in a trade with NRE, with CP trading a group of retired SD40-2’s to NRE in exchange for 7 rebuilt GP38-2 equivalents.
As for CP #5006, the cab and nose were replaced as part of the rebuild to SD30C-ECO specs. This is due to the work specification as agreed to by CP and Progress Rail/EMD.
