(it's the one on the right in this shot) It's really short, and one of the original CPRR tunnels the Chinese built. This is a pretty cool place to shoot- but kinda of tricky, and could prove dangerous if you let your guard down. Trains routinely come from either direction on either track and the constant din of traffic on I-80 below masks the sound of approaching trains... you really can't rely on your ears to protect you. If you come up here, pay attention!! SR Date: 11/11/20 10:12 Re: Tunnel Drama Author: Bob3985 Excellent photo. IOTD material.
Bob Krieger Cheyenne, WY Date: 11/11/20 11:01 Re: Tunnel Drama Author: cchan006 The colors on the rocks around the tunnel seem much more dramatic in neutral light. Great stuff!

PQM Date: 11/11/20 19:27 Re: Tunnel Drama Author: kilroydiver There is a tree growing in the upper right hand corner of the first image. Amazing that a seedling could take root in a rock formation like that! Terrific photo. Dave
Date: 11/11/20 20:43 Re: Tunnel Drama Author: grandroad What Bob Krieger said.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I've got crab grass and wire grass that could easily take root, germinate and eat through a nuclear strike hardended facility. |
