The Day After Hump Day On The BNSF Northern Transcon

It was a Sunny cool day in Ritzville, WA on the BNSF Lakeside Sub. The high-low was 44-34 with .11 of rain yesterday. Drier weather ahead until Sunday evening. Traffic is at 27 train since midnight with a three hour lull from 0530 to 0930. Here are some of the trains from today and a few from yesterday in the wet weather.

11/18/2020

1. WB 941am grain train with BNSF 4247-4087 on the point with DPU.
2. WB 953am grain train with BNSF 8413-6665 on the pull with DPU's.
3. WB 1134am grain train with BNSF 7042 and Warbonnet 4703 on the point with DPU in the rain.

6. EB 945am intermodal train with BNSF 7997-7988-7881 on the pull with no DPU.

7. WB 1004am oil train with BNSF 7613-7909 on the point with DPU's. Also MoW measuring rail for a project.
8. DPU's BNSF 9068-7705 on same train.

13. EB 1101am manifest train with BNSF 6730-5890-6853 on the point with DPU.
14. EB 1117am grain train with BNSF 6970-7299-6982 on the pull with no DPU.
15. Old Ex-Rock Island hopper rolling in same train.

16. WB 1219pm "Z" train with BNSF 7390-8011-6934-8936-4429 on the point with no DPU.
17. Abother shot of BNSF 70MAC 8936 on same "Z".
18. WB 1239pm oil train with BNSF 4454-7077 on the pull with DPU's.

Larry, do you provide for the birds? I'm a bird guy. I had parrots for 15 years but had to rehome them when I moved. Coincidentally, just today I welcomed a new canary into my home!

I do go thru 20lbs of seed every other day. It keeps the sparrows, doves, and quail quite happy all year. In the Spring have lots of other type birds that fly thru the area.

How many of those 27 were grain trains out of curiosity?

Probably near ten, that would be some trains I wasn't able to shoot,
