Western Railroad Discussion > A Dusty and Windy AfternoonDate: 11/26/20 15:33 A Dusty and Windy Afternoon Author: BNSF-6432 A couple days ago; on this past Tuesday it was a typical windy day out here in west Texas. The dust was definately in the air and made for some interesting views. My main reason for being out was for an approaching MDNMH with a NREX SD40 trailing. Once bagging it, there was a couple more to follow.
1) The DNMH approaches the Odessa Yard with a pair of dash9's and the NREX SD40-3. 2) A roster of the passing NREX 4321 in the black and silver scheme. Formerly Penn Central 6259. 3) I was a bit tardy for this westbound after trying to get ahead of an eastbound, but was able to snap off a shot of the DPU's between Midland and Odessa with one of the many memorials along the 70mph mainline. 5) A wider view... 6) The midtrain DPU hides among the freight heading towards the cloud of dust. Date: 11/26/20 15:42 Re: A Dusty and Windy Afternoon Author: BNSF-6432 7) Several thousand feet later, the rear DPU shoves the lengthy freight past MP 560.
8) A telephoto looking east down Farm Road 662. Taken 11/24/20 Happy Thanksgiving PQM Date: 11/26/20 19:41 Re: A Dusty and Windy Afternoon Author: SCKP187 Nice interesting shots. The block of box carsnext to the DPU in the junk manifest looks good. I suppose you handled the cars in the DNMH the next day.
