Western Railroad Discussion > Warbonnet Wednesday: Pick a LocationDate: 12/23/20 12:42 Warbonnet Wednesday: Pick a Location Author: espee4ever This image of three trains, each with a warbonnet comes from February '09. The eastbound closest to the camera is climbing into Pine Lodge West. The westbound beyond is dropping into Drawbar Flats, and the far eastbound is climbing through Silverwood. Cajon shooters, what do you think?

Date: 12/23/20 12:54 Re: Warbonnet Wednesday: Pick a Location Author: Curt I've walked across the road, from the motel behind the 76 station, to the Subway in the Shell station, many times after a tough day of railfanning!

I love hanging out up there and taking it all in. Especially the highway patrol picking off the speeders blazing down I-15. ~ Mr. MRL Date: 12/23/20 13:39 Re: Warbonnet Wednesday: Pick a Location Author: espee4ever MrMRL Wrote:

In those days Mac had an altimeter in his 4WD, it was fun to go hill climbing and see how high we could get above it all. —Michael Date: 12/23/20 16:53 Re: Warbonnet Wednesday: Pick a Location Author: TheNavigator Nice broad panorama shot. I've never set aside the time to get up to that location, but might have to do it now.

This perspective is awesome as it really shows the curve up to Summit. I wouldn’t have realized how far the line hooked back to the south without this picture. Have driven that route on both roads but the aerial view sure changes the perspective.
