Western Railroad Discussion > IAIS and CP from the QuadsDate: 01/06/21 07:19 IAIS and CP from the Quads Author: CNW8531 Yesterday was probably our only sunny day we'll see this month (in eastern Iowa anyhow) so I took advantage of it the best I could. Got out of the chemo clinic around 11:00am and decided to see what was running in the Quads before heading on home. Heard the IAIS westbound getting a warrant to head west so I just had time to get across the river and grab a few shots. Nothing great here but it was sunny out remember, and it did have more than the usual two unit consist.
1 Going by Willie-Whites in East Moline. 2 At Rock Island yard with the former Rock Island depot in the background on the left. 3 About to cross the Government Bridge into Iowa. Date: 01/06/21 07:30 Re: IAIS and CP from the Quads Author: CNW8531 It was all locals running on the CP but what the heck, red paint looks good in the sun and snow.
1 The B73 local at Rock Island ready to head across town and up the Nitrin line. 2 A former Milwaukee Road GP40 leading here. I'll take that and like it! 3 Another local in downtown Davenport heading back to Nahant. Not sure if I like them running butt forward or not, but it is different. I guess you take what you get. That's all for today as I was ready for home and a meal by this point. Date: 01/06/21 07:38 Re: IAIS and CP from the Quads Author: SP8595 Neat series! Really like the look of that CP #2273

I always try to make some time to cruise through the QC while heading to/from Iowa City. The unit originally ran cross country for the MILW when she was new but no doubt spent a lot of time in Iowa after the SD40-2's arrived. She ended her MILW career in the Hiawatha scheme.
Thanks for sharing the photos with us here. Date: 01/06/21 21:59 Re: IAIS and CP from the Quads Author: oyw Most excellent! Sun and snow, how do you beat that?!
