It was a cool foggy to partly cloudy day in Ritzvuille, WA on the BNSF Northern Transcon. The high-low was 41-32. The thick fog finally cleared for the WB 1123am train. Traffic is at 25 trains since midnight with more on the way. Here are some of this weekend's trains.

1/16/2021

1. EB 332pm grain train with BNSF 6936-H1 1080 on the point with DPU.
2. EB 347pm mix train with BNSF 5895-4519-7329 on the pull with DPU.
3. DPU BNSF 8011 on same train.

With the low light there is a slight blur on the next three and last three pictures.

4. WB 402pm coal train with BNSF 5254-5013-6337 on the point with DPU in low light.
5. DPU BNSF 8490 on same train.
6. EB 417pm coke train with BNSF 7427-3271 on the pull with DPU's.

7. WB 1123am manifest train with BNSF 5286 and CN 2660 on the point with no DPU. There is a WB on the way with solid CN power and DPU. With Murphy's Law, probably will show in low light or darkness. Seems to work that very often.

10. WB 101pm manifest train with BNSF 7275-610 on the pull with DPU's.
11. DPU's BNSF 6571-7983 on same train.
12. EB 121pm garbage/manifest train with BNSF 5232-3789 on the point with no DPU.

13. EB 131pm grain train with BNSF 7447-4131-5167 on the pull with no DPU.
14. EB 143pm grain train with BNSF 7822-9285 on the point with DPU.
15. DPU BNSF 5900 on same train.

16. WB 209pm 3x3x3 Mega grain train with BNSF 9016-9714-4055 on the pull with DPU's. Rare to see WB Mega trains.
17. Middle DPU's BNSF H1 1061-3951-7127 on same train.
18. End DPU's BNSF 8259-7715-6187 on same Mega train.

Lol.. I also thought that hopper in photo 9 was neat when I saw it pass by.

Those three yellow geeps were EB on a PASLAU today but I guess they went through quietly, to bad you missed them.

Good catch of the garbage train. I saw some UP garbage trains in Alburn yard WA in 2011. In general, where they come from and where they go?

Not sure where they cime from, but they go to Roosevelt, WA to a processing center.

Dang, I was hoping that you would catch that all-CN 2x1 consist. Must have been too dark when it got down there.

These garbage trains originate in Spokane right there at Yardley. MOst of the time they are part of the SPOPAS and then continue to Roosevelt alone. The empties generally head Eb on the PASSPO.
