Eng.Shadetree Date: 01/18/21 18:52 Re: Joint Line heads up/ Circus in town Author: slug96 Double load broke into two going over Palmer. Then, once it was put back together, it broke into three. Crew asked to unlink the DP motors to run it as two trains. Dispatcher said they have to run it over the hill as one train. It took the train 6.5 hrs to go from Palmer Lake to Monument.
With one train behind it, and 4 northbound coming at it, it resulted in 5 dog catch crews. Yes it took the first half six plus hours to get to Monument, but, the second half backed north of the signals at Palmer Lake, and didn't head south until 2330 hrs, almost eleven hours after going into emergency. Sometimes they learn and sometimes they don't.
