Western Railroad Discussion > I Don't Think So!

I don't know if someone in the shop department stenciled this unit by mistake or was just having fun and did it jokingly.  You have to look above the first wheel on the frame of the lead unit to see that's it's labeled as a U 28 B model.  Well, we can clearly see it isn't a U Boat of any sort, and never was either!  Somebody's a bit challenged when it comes to diesel identification apparently.  Oh well, I wish it was a real U28B I photographed.  I'd be walking on cloud 9 for a week or better if it were!   Photo was taken late this afternoon of the BNSF local southbound near Princeton, Iowa, just before the sun slipped over the horizon.
