500 class Dash 8-40BW in DP consist

Denver bound through Loveland CO about 6 p.m. this evening. Other DP unit was a 6-axle GE. Very uncommon in my experience. As info.

With the weather a mess across a lot of the system, they are probably in "if it runs, use it" mode.

We just had a  baretable repo train come down the CA coast with 3 BNSF GE's.  Only 1 unit operable.  One quit, and one was past inspection.

Nice. I've seen the same with a 40-2 before. There must of been a power shortage at that time.

When you send 26 units to North Dakota because there's no one to start the stored units already there you
get a better feel for power utilization.
