It was a sunny cool day in Ritzville, WA on the BNSF Northern Transcon with a high-low of 45-26. Possible snow on the way. Traffic is at 26 trains since midnight with more on the way. Trying to catch up on the few days.

2/22/2021

1. Grab shot of EB 315pm manifest train with BNSF 6622-7042-7517-6753-8550-7818 on the point with no DPU.
2. EB 325pm grain train with BNSF 7041=6927 on the pull with DPU.
3. WB 344pm grain train with BNSF 5234-7461 on the point with DPU.

4. DPU BNSF 4234 on same train.
5. WB 447pm grain train with BNSF 5258-H1 1003 on the pull with DPU.
6. EB 509pm manifest train with BNSF 7659, Warbonnet 4708 and BNSF 4594 on the point with no DPU.

7. WB 844am grain train with BNSF 6109-6214 on the point with DPU and a friendly toot-toot-wave from the hogger.
8. WB 910am garbage/manifest train with BNSF 6833-6236 on the pull with no DPU.

2/24/2021

9. EB 1035am auto train with BNSF 8185 on the very point of 2 units with DPU. Was trying to get the sunnyside of the tracksbut train beat me to the crossing, darn it.

10. DPU CN 3236 100 year unit on same train.
11. WB 1056am grain train with BNSF 8342-4487 on the pull with DPU with a friendly toot-toot from the hogger.
12. DPU BNSF 56?? on same train fading away.

13. WB 1201pm "Z" train with BNSF 5234-7461 on the point with no DPU.
14. TOFC rolling in same train.
15. WB 125pm stack train with BNSF 6507-H1 994 on the pull with no DPU.

16. Another shot of BNSF H1 994 on same "Z".

Did a small chase towards Paha and Lind, WA to catch light power move of 8 units. I missed it in the backyard. so had to chase it for a bit.

17. Chasing 8 unit light power move at 75MPH. Quick shot thru windshield.

Great 'small' chase of the light power down to Paha/Lind area..   I see you had gotten the westbound Z that went thru your backyard at noon..

Nice shots at the dock and the going away at the depot Larry.  Good to see you get out and chase one ocassionally--certainly was worth the chase.

A light engine move seems very rare on the Lakeside/Fallbridge Subs, even the Columbia/Scenic Subs.

Roadrailer,

I have only seen a few in my time near the tracks in Cheney, Wash.   Extra power is usually put onto trains heading east or west..
