UP 3073 at Maxwell, NE, 26 February 2021

UP 3073, Tier 4, had some issue and was stopped at Maxwell, Nebraska, Friday, 26 February 2021.  Another locomotive came out of North Platte, NE, that afternoon for the eastbound intermodal train.

Those EMD units look like the child of an EMD-GE love affair.

I wonder how those new "fabricated" trucks ride vs. the "cast" trucks?  Are they sprung the same, better, worse?  Ride quality overall?

They tried but after the order kept getting pushed back again and again, they cancelled them

Exactly the same springs, bearing housings, dampers, and rubber springs so ride is no different.
