Western Railroad Discussion > Iowa Interstate WB freight Arriving at the West End of the RRDate: 04/07/21 10:28 Iowa Interstate WB freight Arriving at the West End of the RR Author: OmahaTom I caught this westbound IAIS westbound manifest arriving at Council Bluffs, Iowa, on April 5th, 2021. A couple of IAIS GP-38s pause their normal yard duties to let the westbound freight clank and clang across the switches on the west end of the yard. The depot to the left is the former Rock Island Council Bluffs station, which is now the home of the Rails West Museum, an outfit that keeps the beautiful old brick depot in pristine condition. Unfortunately, the same can't be said for the old railroad equipment kept on the grounds on permanent display, like UP 4-8-4 #814, and CB&Q #915, which could both use some paint and TLC.
