Western Railroad Discussion > BNSF grain train with mixed-up consist south through OregonDate: 04/09/21 22:07 BNSF grain train with mixed-up consist south through Oregon Author: roustabout BNSF 7597 south unit grain train came through the Shedd area on UP's Brooklyn Sub today with a KCS de Mexico unit and a BNSF war bonnet for power. As I understood it, UP's Eugene Yard is a bit plugged up and UP had held a SB manifest at Shedd and ran this grain train around it. Plus the grain met a northbound non clearing manifest at Alford; the northbound also met the southbound Amtrak Cascade at Hallawell. After a quiet day with no trains, UP opened up the floodgates just before sunset this evening.

It had a BNSF DPU as well and seemed to have a lot of the grain hopper reporting marks of unit trains more often seen on BNSF. I'd be interested to know more, thanks!
