Lucky for everyone bomb threat calls are usually phony.  No one who really planted a bomb is going to call and let you know about it.

I would not say he is off his rocker. There are about 1500 reported bomb threats made a year in the US, and near zero turn out to be anything.

Back when I worked at Reno newspapers there was a period of bomb threats at Reno High School.  We stopped making a big deal out of each one and they faded away.

What he probably meant was: If someone who IS off his rocker really wants to do building damage and hurt people, he isn't going to call and have the authorities know, go find it AND undo his fiendish plans.

NEAR ZERO is not ZERO! That is my point. ExStarlightHog said "NO ONE" which is not true.

Complacency breads disaster. It has happened in the past, and it will happen in the future.

What percentage? Extremely small, but NOT ZERO.

In my nephew's school, bomb threats stopped when the make up time became Saturday morning.

Amazing how quickly they give up the perp...

With comments like these: "While you are certainly entitled to your opinion, unless you have put in the actual real effort to make what you want a reality, shut up."

I agree jst3751 doesn't seem to know how to participate in a group discussion.

Since the threats weren't credible according the article (which I hope people read), I guess we can be a bit light-hearted. Seems schools and other businesses were targeted, too, but the article decided to focus on the UP employees that were evacuated.

To be fair, Todd's argument was a straw man and not worth noting.

There's no way that it was a disgruntled UP employee. I'm actually surprised stuff like this doesn't happen more often on the class ones from pissed off emplyees.

Funny, saying this and then you go noting Todd's argument...

Uhhh, to be fair, Todd just debunked the other guy's ridiculous opinion and that's what I noted.

During three decades of 'the troubles' in Northern Ireland, the various protagonists almost always issued phone warnings to the police prior to detonating planted bombs. The bomb makes a very strong point, but killing large numbers of civilians does not tend to win people's opinions regarding your cause.
