Western Railroad Discussion > Is this what it was like at the end on the MILW?Date: 05/03/21 14:58 Is this what it was like at the end on the MILW? Author: Texican65 That question is what my fellow train crew members and I have been asking ourselves over the last several months. With as dysfunctional as it has become on the operations side now, we can't help but wonder if this is how the Milwaukee guys felt towards the end. The current state of PSR here on this class 1 has almost shut the place down, and it seems that they've finally cut too deep...it can't go anywhere else but up. The level of extreme chaos, disorder, waste, and neglect is at an all time high.
So....with all the chaos, dysfunction, shortage of power with trains sitting around for days waiting on a consist, lack of personnel to fill train crew positions, lack of personnel to maintain equipment, lack of personal to coordinate train planning and movements, lack of personnel to render assistance when in dire need...broken and ragged equipment failing left and right...slow orders everywhere...on time deliveries a thing of the past. We are asking....."Is this what it was like at the end for the guys on the Milwaukee"? Edited 4 time(s). Last edit at 05/03/21 16:34 by Texican65. Date: 05/03/21 15:44 Re: Is this what it was like at the end? Author: callum_out BNSF runs perfectly, exactly as it should with the current level of employment. You dismiss all the "lates" and the rollng
house of cards that is the main at current traffic levels and of course your OR gets better. Out Date: 05/03/21 15:47 Re: Is this what it was like at the end? Author: TEEKAY Yikes.
I would assume that this is probably how the other railroads are operating now as well...just imagine if/when investors begin to get wind of this stuff with the publicly traded roads. Maybe then they'll start to listen, but I won't hold out hope. Date: 05/03/21 16:00 Re: Is this what it was like at the end? Author: koloradokid trkinsptr Wrote:

That should convey something. People have tried to alert him. The RI and MILW were killed the same way. The "disease" just moved to new players. Author: Drknow The Rock Island boys I worked with back in the day could give you a earful for 12 & tow too. Much bitterness, most of it justified. And while Staggers did SOME things right, it was not thought out well enough for the long view. In typical Govt. fashion it was knee jerk in regards to the PC/Conrail, Milwaukee and RI shitshow’s.

https://www.freightwaves.com/news/bnsf-outlines-3-billion-capital-investment-budget-for-2021 Hey, here's a fun fact: BNSF has now been around longer than BN was a stand alone railroad. Sounds like this business now with current class 1’s is nothing new, just a little different with the technological advances of today. Posted from iPhone |
