Chasing the light at Ludlow on the Needles Sub.

I got lucky here with the long shadows on the mountains and the fast disappearing light on the train as the eastbound is just about to go into the Ludlow Curve.

The peeks of light on the train, ground and the mountains in the background make for a nifty picture!

Nice shot. RE: the late hour, I call the late afternoon and early evening hours the "Senior Citizen's Golden Hour". My days of getting up at O-Dark-Hundred are pretty much over. 
Steam locomotives excepted :-D

I believe you're right! The one exception being some capable beanery chef producing an A-1 grade plate of biscuits & gravy while on some railfan chase...
