Last Good Day Before Heat Wave Begins On BNSF Lakeside Sub
Author: Ritzville

It was a sunny to partly cloudy hot day in Ritzville, WA on the BNSF Northern Transcon. The High-low was 94-59. Starting tomorrow, temps will only go up with a 110-111 on Monday-Tuesday next week. Suppose to be 7 days of 100+ temps. Should be some record highs, not looking foward to the excessive heat. Suppose to be the worst heat ever in the area. We'll see what happens, hopefully no fires. Not sure how train traffic will be affected. Here are a few trains from today and the last couple of days.

6/22/2021

1. EB 348pm 3x2x1 Mega grain train with BNSF 7964-7116 and  NS 9571 on the point with DPU's.
2. Middle DPU's BNSF 7659 and CP 5782 on same train.
3. End DPU CP 8826 on same train.

Supposedly new record high temps in Portland over the weekend too.
Drink plenty of fluids, wear sunscreen, and get your rest, you are still recovering.
Hundreds of us wish you well and enjoy your reports.

Yep, it's going to be HOT this next week. Going to be running at night to avoid the issues of heat and sun kinks during the day.

Thanks guys! Will drink lots of water, use sun screen and stay out of the sun as much as possible. This will be a long HOT haul.

Neat to see all the different roads paint schemes, and neat catch on the work train.
