Freight Car Friday
Author: wye-it

From the pedestrian overpass at the Izaak Walton Inn near Essex, Montana on June 7th:

1: ACFX 462001 with NO graffiti
2: Southern 3-bay hopper 99398? (hard to tell exact number) No graffiti (on this side).  Also, former Columbus & Greenville, now CAMY 661003 with only minor graffiti.
The Camp Chase Railway (CAMY) owns and operates approximately 15 miles of track in the Columbus, Ohio area.  The railroad has been owned by Midwest & Bluegrass Rail since 2020.
CAMY interchanges with Norfolk Southern and CSX in Columbus, Ohio.  In addition to the CAMY transload facility, customers include Ardent Mills, Dispatch Media Group, and Royal Paper Stock.  Lakeview Grains and Sunoco Logistics are listed as inactive.

3: CW 6007 (Colorado & Wyoming Railway Co)
According to UP.com’s shortline profiles, CW operates a 4.5 mile long switching line at Minnequa, Colorado, connecting with UP and BNSF. Traffic includes coal, ore and steel products. CW is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Rocky Mountain Steel Mills Division, which is a unit of Evraz Oregon Steel Mills.

Correct - nuclear submarine scrap.  There are currently four in drydock at PSNS n various stages of deconstruction.  This PSNS outbound load is headed for who knows where.
