Pinkbonnet Special
Author: jgilmore

Before we hit Las Vegas (NM) for a long weekend, we rolled through Clovis around high noon (once again) so I stopped long enough to capture this EB for Houston as it was diverging at Texico for the Slaton Sub. Second unit is seriously pink, and both were nowhere near representative of the old ATSF. Was cloudy when I first got there, which would've helped mute the high sun, but they ran 2 speedsters east before they let this one loose from his holding position and the ugly sun came out. Real men drive pink locos anyway right? :>)

3 shots coming and going...

Nice images in a place that sure has changed since I passed that way 3 decades ago. Thanks for the look.

Well, DRAT!  I was in Farwell more than once the 9th through the 11th and couldn't get a Houston train to save my life!  I am totally jealous!  Nice shots, thanks for posting.
