BNSF Notice:

On Friday, October 29, 2021 at 8:25 a.m. CDT, we received a preliminary report of a train derailment near Pisgah, CA which has impacted both main tracks.  Pisgah, CA is approximately 40 miles east of Barstow, CA.  BNSF field personnel are responding to assess the derailment site. The estimated time for opening the main tracks has not been determined at this time.

With a early post of 12 +hours, could be track open by the time 3-4 come through. But they could get delayed by the freights waiting to get through.

(2045 PDT) 14+ hrs after the derailment now... no one has made it through yet. 15 westbounds parked between E. Pisgah and Needles, CA. 18 eastbounds waiting between W. Pisgah and Cajon Summit.

2245 PDT nobody through yet. Still got a 'Form B' at Pisgah locked in until 0001 on 10/31/21, (can be shortened if/when warranted...). And several Track and Time locations at Pisgah in effect until late tonight.

Winona as in Winona, MN? It is an Amtrak stop, but for the Builder, not #3/4.

0100 10/30/21, tracks still closed. Got an eastbound  W-BARBAR with 51 loads of (something), headed out to the site now.

20 westbounds waiting between Pisgah and Needles, and 19 eastbounds between Cajon Pass and Pisgah, (including Amtrak #4).

Westbound Amtrak #3 just left Williams, AZ, some 300+ miles away.

Mr. MRL ~ been up since 0630, heading for bed.

Winona, AZ east of Flagstaff.   "Darling" on the railroad.

One of those Route 66 songs that lists a lot of the places has a line, "Don't forget Winona".

I was hoping for a substantive post to see if I wanted to go to Cajon Pass and watch all the
westbound fleet of backed up trains, and all I got was a strange post about a possible new and rebellious Subaru!

Oh, well.  Live and learn …
