Western Railroad Discussion > Ordered by One—Delivered to AnotherDate: 11/24/21 09:21 Ordered by One—Delivered to Another Author: MacBeau Twenty four years ago these two C44-9s came from GE as part of Order 1879. The AT&SF was already nine months gone when they arrived in September and November respectively. The pair was framed last Friday climbing westbound at Klondike on Ash Hill leading a 3x3x0. It's still hard to accept there are warbonnets that never were reporting marked ATSF.

Andy Date: 11/25/21 02:48 Re: Ordered by One—Delivered to Another Author: Evan_Werkema Pretty sure the 700's were ordered by BNSF. The 960-class orange and green Dash 9's arrived between July 1996 and January 1997, several months before the red and silver 700's started showing up in June 1997. The merged railroad just hadn't decided to go with one color scheme for the entire system yet. They also continued to buy SD70MAC's in BN executive colors with BNSF lettering (but with the old BN logo on the nose) until locomotive 9838 showed up in orange and green in November 1997. The last red and silver SD75I's showed up in December 1997.
