Some UP from Last Month . . .
Author: SCKP187

Been out several times, just been a little slugish on getting photos placed on the computer and showing them.  Here's a few of the highlights on the UP Wagoner and Cherokee Subs in the Wagoner area.

1.     November 22 UP 7313-7992 heads north out of Wagoner OK with the MMUKS.  This is a fairly new symbol and usually a shorter train and elephant style consist that I think is utilized to do some Kansas City blocking in Muskogee OK to help relieve some of the bottleneck blocking that has been done in Coffeyville KS in the past.
2.     MMUKS was a good size train this day with a mid-train DPU UP 7134
3.     Coal moving to Arkansas still quite frequent with UP 5387-7209 heading south out of Wagoner OK

several more to follow . .

4.     More coal just a few minutes following on the north side of Wagoner at Hall Ranch Rd with UP 7628-8952 going to another location power plant in AR
5.     November 29 was a heavy manifest day starting with UP 8364-7172 MSANP
6.     More manifest a short time later with this nice elephant style UP 5526-6900 with a destination of So. St. Paul MN

more to follow . .

7.     This part of the system has been seeing some of the newer less worn out units lately such as the DPU on the St Paul manifest, but they sure are dirty like they have spent time in tunnel territory.
8.     A neat short 1x1 oil train going to Wildcat on the UTAH Ry--UP 5328 leads
9.     and UP 7185 pushing as the DPU near Inola OK

more to follow . .

10.     Finally, the one I waited on for most of the day--some foreign power in the form of flashing ditch lights NS 3622-4182-UP 7646-- a double ethanol train with UP 7111-8655 as the mid-train DPUs going to Dana IA to get loaded---2-189-8475  11757 ft.  Must be a large busy place as there was the same symbol a couple weeks previous
11.     Tanks a lot---just south of Inola OK shows a little of the rolling terrain in the area on the ethanol train

Thanks for looking

Quite busy in your area Brian. Nice to see the coal trains and the heavy manifest. Glad you got to catch some foreign power and I too like your last shot of the oil train.

Like that last one. How many trains a day on this line. Directional isn't it?

Yes the Wagoner Sub (MoP) Wagoner OK to Paola KS is directional north.  The Cherokee Sub (MKT) Paola KS to Wagoner OK is directional south.
In the past you could pretty much count on 19 to 24 trains a day--now is probably down to 15 every 24 hours.  There have been times I've been out for 6' and only see 1 train.

That's still a pretty good average for a one direction line.
