Western Railroad Discussion > In Search Of photos of CNW operations in Scribner, NebraskaDate: 12/16/21 11:02 In Search Of photos of CNW operations in Scribner, Nebraska Author: UPChallenger3985 Hello,
For many years, I have been looking for photos of C&NW operations through Scribner, Nebraska. All I can find is a 1960 photo of the depot. I was hoping to find some photos that are pre-1982. I know no photos exist of the F&EVR operation through Scribner, as they removed the tracks in 1988 & never ran a train through there. All help is appreciated. Edited 1 time(s). If the line had
been left in place there would be a decent enough business to support it or a Nebraska Central operation out of Norfolk. Out Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 12/17/21 13:12 by callum_out. The GP35/slug sets were transferred to Chadron, NE, in 1976, and basically stayed there for the rest of their CNW lives. The slugs, however, were prone to breaking and by 1980 were out of service. At that point, CNW transferred some GP40's out west. I left the Black Hills in 1977 and thus the dates are approximate.
