H-GALBAR9-25A derailed 41 cars at Milepost 294.8 west of Baring, Missouri.  Both main tracks fouled.

That's 16 [updated], not 17 miles, east of the La Plata railcam.  The last train past the camera was the eastbound UP ZCIG4 at 06:01.

Westbound general manefest can be seen passing the Fort Madison railcam at 6:08 a.m. this morning.  Last 40 cars said to be alongside track and 1 cross the track.

The railroads really need to start doing a better job of keeping their trains on the tracks ...

Several top BNSF officials just saw this post and decided right then and there that they were going to try harder!

That always sucks, and the thing is it always has to occur at a bad time!

Wasn’t it the H GALBAR that derailed a bunch of cars in Marceline a few months ago?

Those H GALBARs are routinely some of the worst built trains and have been involved in several derailments in recent memory. No one besides Trip Optimizer likes running them
