Claremore, OK in Elgin, AZ. Then Patagonia.
Author: rgzfan

1) A beautiful cottonwood near the abandoned line that goes through Elgin, AZ

2) An abandoned boxcar near the abandoned line in Elgin, AZ.

3) Location of the Claremore station in the movie "Oklahoma!". The station was right where the mailboxes are. The dance platform extended out from it, over the road. A faux road was created that went around the dance platform. The white house is the old section house. There used to be a pump house in front of the black water tank. Behind the black tank is the well.

4) Panorama of the station location.

5) Depot in Patagonia, AZ. Patagonia is between Elgin and Nogales, on the abandoned line.

The Elgin area is being overrun by wineries.

Amazing to think that Southeast Arizona was the place Hollywood chose to look like Oklahoma. That part of Santa Cruz and Cochise Counties do look a lot like the Great Planes.
