Western Railroad Discussion > Central Midland in MissouriDate: 01/16/22 15:41 Central Midland in Missouri Author: RJM29 The Central Midland Railway has been operating what's left of the Rock Island's eastern Missouri line since 2001; running the roughly 40 mile path to Union, MO. CMR, a part of Progressive Rail, has used leased locomotives for power over the years. In late 2021 it was announced that the line would be taken over by the Missouri Eastern RR, which is aligned with Jaguar Transport Holdings. The transfer is supposed to happen by the end of January 2022. This picture is at their Olivette, MO yard. The Rock Island called this location Lackland; CMR uses a St Louis postal location.

I dont expect Jaguar Transport to have painted power but im ready for the change.

of traffic. Nice to see a new operator and maybe a fresh outlook. Out Date: 01/17/22 16:18 Re: Central Midland in Missouri Author: brc600 Plenty of business to be had. Plus, the RI STL-KCY supposedly never washed out--why those want to advocate rebuilding it.

JEFFERSON CITY, MO, DEC. 14, 2021 - The Missouri Department of Natural Resources announced today it is accepting ownership of the Rock Island Corridor. The department plans to develop the 144 miles of the former Chicago, Rock Island, and Pacific Railroad corridor, which stretches from Windsor to Beaufort, Missouri, into a public recreational trail. Missouri Central Railroad Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of Ameren Missouri, donated the property at no cost to the state. https://dnr.mo.gov/communications/news/department-natural-resources-accepts-ownership-rock-island-corridor-dec-14 The segment from Windsor to Pleasant Hill was converted to trail use several years ago. The segment from Lees Summit to the stadium complex was opened as a trail last year. |
