Western Railroad Discussion > Boone,Ia local co-op collisionDate: 01/20/22 10:28 Boone,Ia local co-op collision Author: JasonCNW I dont have a lot of details but this morning the Landus grain elevator managed to run into their own train. Pushing part of it out onto the shoulder of the highway. Hulcher was on the scene with side booms attempting to get the loco off the highway. The Geep appears to be a canidate for scrap if the frame is as bent as it looks, the little yellow plymoth switcher appearsbto not have as much damage. It has been thr co-ops switcher since at least the early 1980's.

Date: 01/20/22 17:36 Re: Boone,Ia local co-op collision Author: nssd70 The Plymouth is usually parked at the end of the track near the highway. I am guessing the geep hit the Plymouth.

I cant confirm anything and I hate to spread rumors but what I read was the Blue geep was parked with throttle in notch 3 but with reverser in the forward position and the operator climbed down for some reason and thats how it got away from them. JC Date: 01/20/22 18:20 Re: Boone,Ia local co-op collision Author: bankshotone I was told this afternoon the frame is cracked. May be a parts donor for the senic valleys gp7?

Wanted new engineer Bummer, maybe the little yellow Plymouth survived? The Geep is history. Go Date: 01/20/22 19:31 Re: Boone,Ia local co-op collision Author: dcfbalcoS1 i don't think there is the slightest chance of an 'IF' concerning the bent frame question.
