Larry --

To echo Jim (rrartist), I too enjoy your photographic journals.  Having lived there briefly many many years ago, particularly enjoy the variety of the skies there on the dry side.  Keep it up.

No 19 is at the extreme north end of the Pacific Electric's four tracks, just south of 9th St (Olympic Blvd).
Ray--'wattslocal'--Ballash tells us the tracks we see the 1546 on were used for mid-day storage as this
was the closest point, by rail, to 6th & Main for storage purposes; this after the so-called Terminal Yard tracks,
beneath the viaduct at 6th & Main had been removed in favor of bus storage.

No 20 is a charter run on LATL/LAMTA's J-Line. Here we see the PCC leaning into the curve on Pacific Blvd in
Vernon where it transitions from a northward to westward direction, just south of the railway's Vernon Yard.

Interesting traffic and nice cloud formations.  BNSF #9116 was a super nice catch with the mint condition paint.

The traction is really terrific.
The Greyhound Terminal scene includes three different models of coaches identified from left to right. The first, fourth, and fifth coaches are Model PD-4104 (Highway Traveler) built 1953 - 1960.  The second coach, not a Greyhound,  is a PD-4107 built 1966 - 1969, the last GM model purchased by Greyhound.  The third coach is a PD-4106 built 1961 - 1965.  Since the PD-4107 appears so new and there are no MCI built Greyhound coaches in the photo, I estimate iit was taken c1969.
Wonderful photo of LAT#5115, no advertising on this great looking GM "Old Look" .  Auto in the background is a 1956 Mercury.  Given the new like appearance of the coach and aoto, I estimate the photo was taken c1957.

Thanks for another super wonderful posting.

Could the yard with 5115. Be LA Metro Division 1?
