Western Railroad Discussion > Southern Colorado QuestionDate: 05/13/22 18:06 Southern Colorado Question Author: fooshie I'm going to be in southern Colorado in late May/early June and am hoping to catch either the SLRG, the SLC, or the Colorado Pacific in action (is the Colorado Pacific running at all?). Any recent info on the best times/places to catch these operations in action?

SLRG still goes over the mountain at night but I think you can chase the evening train eastbound in summer light. Think they alternate which days they go south or west as needed. Although the SLC spuds do warrant a switch every day if needed Colorado Pacific made a move Thursday so you may be in luck. NA Jct has the business but the borrowed engine comes from Eads to prevent vandalism. CH 23. 25 mph track:) Maybe moving cars east to storage as they are being cleaned at NA Jct. Edited 1 time(s).
