Author: andrewamtrak The Southern California Railway Museum has had a few instances of hot air balloons landing dangerously close to the right of way and almost getting tangled in the overhead wire.

In that one patch of airspace within about 10 miles of the Homeland VOR at or below 5000 feet on a weekend morning you have heavy jet aircraft, jet fighters, large general aviation aircraft, small general aviation aircraft, hang gliders, sailplanes, ultralites, skydivers, skydiver aircraft, helicopters and hot air ballons all flying in the same airspace.
