22. Nice looking peach basket wig-wags on the UP at Strasburg, CO in Oct. 1977 with me in the way. Oh to be 30 again and know what I know now, lol. There were losts of Peach Basket wig-wags on the UP in that area. Saw about a dozen pairs. I'm sure it's all changed, especially the wig-wags. Taken with my camera.

That's it for today. Hope everyone has a great evening and tomorrow. Thank you so much for looking!

Nice series today Larry, specially the last picture with you in CO in 1977. I was just a boy playing with my toy trains at that time.

Ritzville Action
High temperature has come down a bit while the traffic keeps rolling.
Coal train in first set will help keep air conditioners running.
All the colorful containers add color to the scenes.
Unit of the Day is BNSF #9071

Historic Traction
17 - Great 1940's color treasure; Texaco sign adds interest.
19 - Wonderful scene showing 1960's v Bart Construction
20 - #112 is a 30 Ft. GM Old Look in great condition; were configured to seat 35, 36, or 37 passengers.
21 - Both coaches are GM Model PD-4103; Yuma coach obviously a Greyhound sell-off

Thanks for supplying our coffers with contemporary action and historic treasures.

ALLEN

Before it went bankrupt in about 1964 and shut down, Yakima's run-down privately owned transit system managed to start replacing its gasoline-powered Fageol Twin Coaches with used GM diesel buses similar to this one purchased from San Jose.  About six months after the shutdown, voters approved a local option sales tax to restart the system under National City Lines and more used diesel buses like 112 started arriving quickly.  Not long afteward, federal funds made brand new buses possible.
