Western Railroad Discussion > Metra SD70MACH Sighting

What is apparently the first Metra SD70MACH passed through Waycross, GA on 8/2/22. It is all blue with black underframe and trucks. It is currently labeled as PRLX 3907 and supposedly heading to Pueblo, CO for testing.

FWIW, other recent Metra repaints have replaced the white to blue fade with solid blue.

There are several clues that this is a photoshopped image. The first being the registered trademark symbol next to Metra. That is not how Metra paints their locomotives. Second clue is that the warning sticker with the word ‘Danger’ is monotone when it should be partly red.

The date of that tweet is back in January, and it purports to come from a Metra account. I don't know what to make of it at all.

There was a posting just yesterday on a Metra group showing a SD70MACH rebuild, but it had no Metra decorations - just PRLX (Progress Rail) reporting marks and number on solid blue paint.
 

Inspecting the Twitter handle from the above link, the letter "L" in the word "rail" is instead a capital "i" so I would assume that this is not an official account.

Edited to add: Yes, the Twitter account discussed here is false, and full of Photoshop Phraud.

There was a PRLX SD70 on the Waycross camera. Showed up on Wednesday's grab bag. Medium blue, black undercarriage, no livery.

The real @Metra has a blue checkmark and a hell of a lot more followers
