UP and BNSF snow to cool you down.
Author: zoohogger

It's going to be 100 again in eastern Nebraska, so I though a bit of snow to cool us down would be a good idea.

1.  January 12, 2010 finds UP 542 at Manley, Nebraska. After slogging north from Weeping Water (this is MOP territory) bucking drifts,  542 set out cars at the Manley elevator. Now the crew has to get out of the cold and pound their way north to Louisville.  A few more miles at a slow pace, checking each iced over crossing and through a few more cuts. I do have two old videos up on the famous video site. look for Engineerrick and UP542.

2.  A few years later in January 2017, the BNSF Bayard local with 2131 heads northeast on the ex-Milwaukee line and busts through a pile of plowed snow at Neola. Iowa creating a bilzzard of it's own.

Ahhh, that feels good.

Perfect cooler on a scorching day! Just what the barkeep suggested, too. The only things missing are the long straws & the little tiki unbrellas...
