Ritzville Traction
Never to hot for railroading; trains still roll and make our economy go..
Diverse traffic manifest traffic and coal that will make our lights glow.
Unit of the Day is BNSF #1820.

Historic Traction
18 - Great color scene from the 1940's, color then was rare
19 - In teresting BART and Muni construction scene with PCC #1161
21 - GM New Look was air conditioning equipped for its passengers' comfort
22 - 28 Ft. GM Old Look ready for the scrapper

Thanks for posting more interesting action updates and historic traction treasures.

Photo 18 was taken on the G-Line during its last years of operation when the route served as a shuttle
between 12th St & Griffith Ave and Griffith Ave & Vernon Ave, a distance of 3.5 miles. At its zenith, around
1910, the G-Line extended through downtown L.A. on Main St as far north as Griffin Ave & Montecito Dr
on the south side of the Arroyo Seco in the vicinity of Sycamore Grove. By February 1938 the line ceased
running through downtown and took on its shuttle role until rail service ended on the line on June 30, 1946.
