Western Railroad Discussion > BNSF takes "CP 5929" hither and yonderDate: 09/05/22 20:50 BNSF takes "CP 5929" hither and yonder Author: Roadmaster This evening at about 9:25 PM I spotted a BNSF train on the Rosenberg (TX) railcam with a H1 Dash 9, a rebuilt SD45-2 and what appeared to be a CP SD40-2 in the consist. I intercepted the train at Sealy at 10:14 and found the following on the point of the train:
BNSF ES44DC 7840 BNSF C44-9W 1024 BNSF ES44DC 7343 BNSF SD40-2 1575 (built as ATSF 5678) "CP" SD40-2 5929 I found a post from about 7 months ago listing 5929 for sale, so I assume it has been sold, although I did not see any new reporting marks on the unit. I found pictures online dated August 27th showing 5929 trailing a BNSF consist in Verdigris, OK. Who here knows 5929's destination? Matthew Edited 1 time(s). That would suggest export.

I just stumbled across a video of a Union Pacific train MEWOL (Englewood Yard Houston to Olmito) passing through Angleton on September 18th with CP 5929 in tow. Olmito is near Brownsville. CSX dragged three painted out, Windows shot out units through LaGrange KY, UP dragged two through Big Sandy TX, etc. Posted from Android |
