Agree. It came across as a political anti-union piece looking to sow divisiveness among members and against union leadership.

Pot stirring, at my union meeting today this was brought up and it's a non issue for the BLET. Our constitution says we vote. Also after hearing from my local and if some of the rumors are true this is truly a shitty contract and I think will be voted down. I mean it's just not good.

Agreed! Still nothing to sit down and read…but with what is floating around…I haven’t talked to one TY&E employee yet that wants to vote “yes”. Not good…

Doesn't sound like something worth a Yes vote. Don't see the quality of life issue dealt with

I hope the members will think long & hard before they vote no. My gut is that should the proposed contract fail to win simple majority approval the Congress will swiftly pass legislation that could well contain some " changes" that were granted to get the necessary Republican votes to overcome the fillibuster in the Senate. I'm guessing that the membership will find those " changes" uniformly bad.

Don't like it, don't vote for it.

From an outsider that knows a person who will be affected by this contract as it stands think he will find another job after about 20yrs on the job.  What he said was the biggest deal was the point system of discipline slo joe said nothing about that in his speech about reaching an agreement. Head in the sand again with that stupid person knows nothing about RRs and how they work just like the trucking deal a year or so back. Tried to do something with drivers and didn't work just let that fade away and that vice prez wow if she gets into the big office figure the USA is doomed. I do hope that the rules get changed so the people who work the board can have lives back good luck to you all in this deal.

This is nonsense.  The President didn't negotiate the deal, so he doesn't need to know or speak about the details.  The railroads and the union reps negotiated the deal, with prodding from several cabinet secretaries.  If you don't like it, blame the unions.

Of course it's nonsense.  Political talking points.  I'd be surprised if Warren Buffett (BNSF) or Lance Fritz (UP) etc know any more than President Biden about the details and costs of the proposal.

As I said, the Repunlicans are playing it smart, the Unions vote it down and they swoop in with a proposal for 5 day work weeks
or the such making Prez Biden look less than helpful. I doubt this will  even raise an eyebrow in the voting public regardless of when
the votes are counted.
