Trackside Scenes from Kansas
Author: RJM29

No trains, but three shots from my recent Kansas trip-.taken 27, 28 September.
1. Sunrise at Goodland, Kansas on the 28th. This is the former Rock Island now operated by Kyle for over 40 years.
2. The Kyle "main" west of Stoddard, Kansas, with a former RI signal still standing.  At one time, the path of the Rocky Mountain Rocket. 27 Sept.
3. Wheeler, Kansas iin the state's northwest corner. These were CB&Q/BN tracks to St.Francis at one time, later used by NK&C, now abaondoned, although the tracks are still in.

I don't believe the St. Francis line is abandoned, it's just not in service. They did manage to abandon the line to Oberlin including
the trackage rights on Kyle and the short piece of yard trackage in Norton. Neat pictures!
