If the perpetrators are not prosecuted at the federal level, nothing will come of it because the LA District Attorney is politically compromised.

Yes but someone is pushing him because several articles mentioned that his stand on the severity of the
incidents had radically changed.

Theft of cases of firearms etc may be of interest to the (federal)  Alcohol Tobacco Firearms & Explosives people.  They've taken over a number of cases from local prosecutors when they believe trafficking is involved.

I'm surprised that shipments like weapons  don't have their own Lo-Jack etc transponders.  The folks at Port Newark and elsewhere are regularly finding that shipping crates of machine parts or scrap metal bound for Africa and South America actually have stolen construction equipment, Mercedes vehicles, etc inside.  With their transponders broadcasting their locations.

It's the LA County DA who has the problems, not the LA City DA.
Different offices and different people.

A nitpick.  City of LA has a City Attorney;   County of LA has a District Attorney.
