Amazing that this unit has been around for over 3 years like this now! Crazy how time flys...

Anyway, seen at the diesel shop at Commerce, CA a few days back... BNSF 4729, delivered January 1998 in H2, but now "Frankenbonnet" thanks to the Topeka Shops, with two large donor sections from some other now dismantled Red and Silver BNSF 700 or 4700 series donor unit.

* as visualized below, Today's BNSF Railway basically treats its motive power as it does its employees... Just horsepower and a number, with little regard for look, quality, or longevity.
